The birds are here. I hear them. is an episodic work involving the audience in a series of actions that alter the performance space as the performance progresses.
Over the course of the performance, audience members receive hugs, take turns unwrapping a parcel, and pass a bowl of chocolate kisses, collectively encompassing, internalizing (and quite literally) consuming the proceedings. In this way, the work aims to actively involve all senses.
Birds and airplanes recur in various forms throughout as importers of landscape, time and memory.
