Untitled (green thread)

For Untitled (green thread), Davis searched for all the green cotton thread she could amass and organized it according to her own color scheme.

In a daily practice of knitting two strands of thread together, she passed through the collection over a period of five months; the variation in size and shape was determined by the dexterity of her hands according to the time of day she worked.

The color gradation is achieved by a process of accumulation: two strands of color one, one strand of color one and one strand of color, two, two strands of color two, and so on.
